Moira Shire Council has announced four Local Safety Forums to be held across the shire over the coming year.
The forums will provide residents a chance to raise their concerns around community safety with Victoria Police, and work with authorities including Moira Shire Council to address issues like crime prevention, road safety and community wellbeing.
Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson said the forums will encourage open dialogue between residents, the police and the council to build trust and find solutions.
“The Local Safety Forums are open to everyone, and they provide an opportunity for council and Victoria Police to engage at a local level with the community,” Dr Emonson said.
“It’s an opportunity for members of the community to talk about what’s important to them, as well an opportunity for Victoria Police and council to understand what the community are seeing and feeling in terms of community safety and local issues.”
By getting involved, you can have a say in safety plans that will protect and support other residents of the Moira Shire.
