Having recently given birth, Benalla’s Chelsea Stacey would be forgiven for wanting to have some rest and relaxation.

Chelsea, however, is doing the opposite, undertaking two cancer fundraisers — the Cancer Council’s March Charge and the 58-squat challenge for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
“The March Charge is pretty much just walking,” Chelsea said.
“My goal for that one is to walk 50km over the month.
“Having just given birth to Ella by C-section, five weeks ago, that’s going to be a challenge.”
Chelsea said it was recommended that she do some walking, but she was unable to attend any local gyms with a baby in a pram.
So she decided if she was going to go out on a stroll each day, she might as well raise money for a good cause at the same time.
“Me and my partner had been donating money to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, but we were struggling to continue doing that financially,” she said.
“So when I saw the March Charge, I thought that would be a good way to continue supporting cancer charities.”

Chelsea said cancer charities were close to her heart as she had lost family members to cancer, and had friends affected, too.
When she spotted the NBCF’s 58-squat challenge she decided that if she was doing one fundraiser, she might as well do two.
The specifics of the challenge stem from the fact that 58 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer every day.
It asks participants to do 58 squats each day from March 1 to March 31, raising money through sponsorship.
Cancer Council’s March Charge works similarly, with participants raising funds by being sponsored to take part in daily walks.
They can be done as an individual or team.
In Chelsea’s case, she is doing it as an individual; however, if you see her out and about she won’t be alone.
“I’ve been walking around the block, but I will also do the lake walk,” Chelsea said.
She will be taking baby Ella, and her young daughter Charlotte with her.
“And I take Jackson, the dog,” she said.
Chelsea said the fundraising goal for the 58-squat challenge was $250, with no specific target for the March Charge.
However, she said, in both cases, there was no limit, and she was keen to raise as much as possible.
“With the March Charge people can sign up to walk with me,” Chelsea said.
