In the early hours of Saturday, February 22, Yarrawonga police were called to a collision in Tungamah where a vehicle had collided with a house’s veranda in Boyd Street.
The driver decamped the scene before police arrived, but multiple witnesses were able to assist police with identifying the driver.
The male driver has since been field interviewed and will be charged with a number of traffic offences, including driving while his licence was cancelled. Fortunately, the occupants in the house were not injured.
An elderly woman from Cornish Town has been issued a penalty notice after failing to give way while towing a horse float along Channel Rd last week.
Police were called to a two-vehicle collision when the woman collided with a young family travelling south on Old Wilby Rd.
A pregnant passenger was taken to Yarrawonga Health as a precaution.
On the same night, police intercepted a vehicle on Woods Road, Yarrawonga where a 43-year-old local man produced a positive Preliminary Breath Test. He agreed to accompany police to the station where he provided an Evidential Breath Test of 0.083 and is summoned to appear in court for drink driving.
Arrested with multiple warrants
A 37-year-old Yarrawonga man was arrested on February 21 on multiple outstanding warrants. He has been bailed to appear at Cobram Magistrates Court on May 20, 2025.
Erratic driver hits bins
A vehicle was reported to be driving erratically in Wanani Rd, Mulwala colliding with up to eight rubbish bins that had been put out for collection at about 10pm on Wednesday, February 19.
Police attended a short time later and spoke with residents who described a white single cab 4x4 type utility with black tray sighted in the area at the time of the incident.

Fire at Rennie
NSW RFS units responded to a grass fire near the intersection of Bull Plain Rd and Rennie Rd at Rennie at about 3.15pm on Sunday, February 16. An area of approximately 100,000 square metres was burnt.
