Seymour Macca’s crew to lend a hand on Clean Up Australia Day

Macca’s staff across the region will be getting their hands dirty to help the environment on Clean Up Australia Day.

The crew at Seymour Macca’s will be lending a hand as part of a nationwide effort for Clean Up Australia Day, along with over 4000 crew members from more than 400 restaurants.

As McDonald’s Australia marks 35 years of partnership with Clean Up Australia Day, the restaurant chain will again continue its steadfast commitment to the cause this year.

McDonald’s Australia is also calling out to customers, community groups, families and friends to get out their bin bags, put on their gloves and attend their local Clean Up Australia Day event.

With over 4000 crew members on board, this year is set to be Macca’s biggest Clean Up Australia yet.

Since 1989, McDonald’s has contributed over $5 million to support Clean Up Australia’s mission to inspire and mobilise communities, improve and conserve our environment, eliminate litter and reduce waste.

Over the past three decades, more than 140,000 crew members have participated in Clean Up Australia events to help educate Aussies on the importance of correctly disposing waste and reducing litter in our communities.

McDonald’s licensee Tully Lyster said the cause was part of Macca’s commitment to keep local areas free of waste.

“As a local business in Victoria, we are proud to support local causes and groups that are important to our customers and people,” Mr Lyster said.

“Here at Macca’s, we are committed to being a good neighbour by helping to keep the Shepparton, Mitchell and Wangaratta communities clean and tidy for everyone to enjoy.

“Our crew will be rolling up their sleeves and cleaning up the local area this week, so come join us for the biggest ever Clean Up.”

Clean Up Australia chair Pip Kiernan said the not-for profit organisation was pleased to have support from companies such as McDonald’s.

“We are happy to have the continued support of McDonald’s Australia as a Founding Partner of Clean Up Australia Day,” Ms Kiernan said.

“It’s great to see so many restaurants from around the country participating this year.

“A big thank you to the Macca’s crew and customers for getting involved, taking practical action to make a real difference in cleaning up their local communities and helping improve and protect our precious environment.”
