The money is part of a $47.9 million pot of funding distributed to 158 schools in the state from the Planned Maintenance Program, which funds high-priority maintenance across Victoria’s government schools.
“This latest maintenance blitz will keep every Victorian school up-to-date, so that every child can access a world-class education in a world-class school,” Victorian Education Minister Ben Carroll said.
In Shepparton, four primary schools have been allocated funds to help with maintenance needs.
Funding allocations for Shepparton schools
Bourchier St Primary School - $135,403.00
Guthrie St Primary School - $172,377.58
St George’s Rd Primary School - $317,547.44

Numurkah Secondary College will receive more than $1.2 million to address drainage works, repainting works, revarnishing works, roof works and switchboard works, according to the Victorian Government.
According to the government, funding from the state’s maintenance program enables schools to undertake essential work in classrooms and other school buildings such as fixing roofs and replacing windows, maintaining ramps, painting, and resurfacing floors, as well as some external works such as improving pathways.
“We are constantly reviewing our schools’ buildings and facilities to make sure every single classroom is safe, engaging and will complement the top-class education Victorian students deserve,” Mr Carroll said.
