Delayed slightly by last week’s storms and high heat, the works will improve accessibility and safety for pedestrians, particularly those with prams and people who use wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
Rutherglen Main Street works
Zauner Construction has advised that works to upgrade Main Street, Nott Street and Hunter Street in Rutherglen will commence from Monday, February 17.
The works, being undertaken as part of the construction of the new Indigo North Health Aged Care Facility, will take approximately 16 weeks and will be performed over four stages, with changing traffic conditions and lane closures in place.
Does your general waste bin have a green lid?
As part of the Victorian Government’s move toward standardising waste collection, Indigo Shire Council have identified that some kerbside collection general waste bins need updating to meet current standards.
While most bins were converted to red lids in 2016, some properties, mainly in rural areas, were missed in the initial changeover and still have older green-lidded waste bins.
If your general waste bin (the bin that goes to landfill, not your organics bin) currently has a green lid, let Indigo Shire Council know to replace it.
Simply complete the form on council’s website on the link below and a member of council’s waste team will be in touch.
