From February 28 to March 2, Thompsons Beach will come alive as athletes from at least 80 nations including Russia, the US and Germany compete in the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour - Cobram Barooga Classic 2025.
President of Cobram Barooga Business and Tourism Nicky Goldsworthy said this year’s event will be better than ever.
“People should be extremely excited,” she said.
“It’s pretty freaky to think we’ve qualified as one of the major points of beach volleyball.
“To think that we’ll have some of the world’s best athletes as well… is pretty cool.”
President Goldsworthy said this year’s event will be more family oriented than ever before.
“The idea is to make it more family oriented with more family-based seating on the day and music,” she said.
Junior athletes will once again also get a chance to shine in the Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Tour segment from March 3 to March 4.
Several local schools will visit the event as part of their sports programs.
“I’m very proud of my region, and the opportunity to showcase it,” she said.
The draw for the event, which is free for spectators to attend, will be released on Wednesday, February 26, on the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour website.
