New footpaths or reconstruction of parts of footpaths are always a priority of residents.
Considerable work is being undertaken within Rutherglen and Wahgunyah.
Works in Rutherglen have provided some much-needed safety and accessibility improvements according to an Indigo Shire Council spokesperson who added: “We'd like to say thank you for your patience while they were underway.”
Works to improve several footpaths across Wahgunyah commenced last week.
“Upgrades on Victoria, Foord, Barkly, Blanche and Short Streets will improve accessibility and safety for pedestrians, particularly those with prams and people who use wheelchairs and mobility scooters,” the council spokesperson said.
“Works are expected to be completed in the next three weeks and during this time there may be minor disruptions to traffic and some footpaths periodically closed.”
