The Deni product’s footballing journey is going from strength to strength after a stellar 2024, which was capped with a starring role in a VFL premiership.
Henderson played for VFL side Werribee in 2024.
His side played the Southport Sharks in last year’s grand final, with Henderson’s side winning 10.09 (69) to Southport 08.15 (63).
Henderson collected 23 disposals, kicked two goals, claimed seven marks, eight tackles and five clearances to be named the Norm Goss Medallist for best on ground in the VFL grand final.
The 24 year-old Henderson averaged 21.1 disposals, 5.4 tackles and 4.1 marks for the year, kicking 15 goals and was a VFL team of the year member.
Channel Seven’s Mitch Cleary reported on Sunday morning that Henderson has been welcomed to trial for one of two spots now open.
One is the result of Eagles 2018 premiership hero Dom Sheed suffering an ACL injury and having a knee reconstruction last week, which has seen West Coast put him on the inactive list.
West Coast finished 16th last season with five wins and 18 losses.
It is a young rebuilding group under new West Coast coach Andrew McQualter, which includes former Murray League Tongala junior Harley Reid and drafting Jobe Shanahan who was a junior player with Moama.
Before joining the VFL, Henderson was involved in both the Deniliquin Rams Football and Netball Club and the Blighty Football and Netball Club.
