Vic Emergency has declared that severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Northern Country district and the warning for the district has been cancelled.
4.21pm
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for areas around Shepparton.
Parts of Northern Country and North East forecast districts have been advised to stay informed as the storm brings the potential for fallen trees, flash flooding, and dangerous road conditions.
The western edge of the storm warning currently includes Violet Town, Pine Lodge and Numurkah.
According to the State Emergency Service (SES), 35 mm was recorded at Greta South, about an hour east of Greater Shepparton, in roughly 30 minutes earlier this afternoon.
Wind gusts of 107km/h was recorded at Wangaratta Airport just before 3.30pm.
SES advises people to safely pull over away from trees, drains, low-lying areas and floodwater if driving conditions are dangerous.
An SES spokesperson said people in areas that may be impacted by a severe storm should tie down and secure loose items, stay indoors and away from windows, beware of trees that may fall, and stay away from fallen powerlines.
There are multiple resources available for people to stay informed, including www.emergency.vic.gov.au, the VicEmergency app, and the VicEmergency Hotline, which can be reached on 1800 226 226
