The auxiliary has been raising funds since the late 1960s to support Mooroopna Hospital, formerly known as MECA, and now directs its efforts toward Goulburn Valley Health.
The group meets monthly to organise fundraising initiatives for the Mary Coram Unit and Grutzner House, with activities ranging from plant sales and community donations to fashion parades.
Over the years, funds have gone toward items such as shade sails, exercise bikes, chairs, televisions, medical monitors, and other equipment.
During their AGM, they presented GV Health with a $3,000 bath chair.
"Being part of the GV Health Extended Care Auxiliary is an incredibly rewarding experience," public relations officer Lolene James said.
“We like to let our little community know what we work towards.”
The group meets on the first Monday of each month at Eastbank and welcomes new faces.
Whether you’re interested in getting involved or just want to learn more, they encourage community members to drop by and see how they can contribute.
