Occurring during a lightning storm, the volunteers were called out about 11pm.
A large branch came off a box tree on the property and landed on a car shelter.
Deniliquin and Conargo SES unit controller Jodie Graham said it was due to the windy weather on Tuesday and “extreme weather conditions we’ve been having.”
Mrs Graham said no-one was harmed as a result of the incident, and the tree removal procedure “went fairly smoothly” with the access successfully cleared.
“The resident was able to move the vehicle out of the damage path, while the A-frame shed had some structural damage”.
Ms Graham said people can contact the SES unit on 132 500 for assistance during storms and other natural disasters, “especially if they’ve got tree branches blocking access”.
It is also a timely reminder that in case of emergency, there are basic things people can do to prepare for storms.
“Know your warnings via the Australian Warning Systems, watch and act during emergencies and during storms, be aware of your surroundings,” Ms Graham said.
“Stay inside away from windows, be mindful and if there is localised flooding never drive through floodwaters.”
The Deniliquin and Conargo SES unit is also recruiting for new members to assist the community.
