Following the market’s opening in Melbourne in 2014, it has been successfully offering a range of specialty market events taking place around Victoria.
Event director Megan Luscombe said as a small business owner, The Creators Market helped small businesses by getting them more exposure and help with marketing brands.
‘‘The markets we hold are boutique and we’re quite selective about the quality of the products we include ... We’re rather particular about ensuring there’s a great variety of products and great quality products available so we limit the number of stall holders per category to make sure it’s not saturated with similar products,’’ she said.
The event, in partnership with Greater Shepparton City Council, celebrates Victorian small businesses and shopping locally, showcasing more than 40 market vendors, food trucks and live music.
‘‘The City of Shepparton has been incredibly welcoming and for quite some time we’ve heard so many positive things about the creators here,’’ Ms Luscombe said.
‘‘Bringing the market here was an exciting move for the event. We’re looking forward to hosting it here more frequently over the upcoming year.’’
She said the free family-friendly event offered something for everyone.
‘‘The market has been incredibly successful in Prahran, Bendigo, Ballarat, the Bellarine Peninsula’s Terindah Estate and Mornington Peninsula’s Dromana Estate,’’ Ms Luscombe said.
‘‘We’re keen to take it to more regional areas where the quality of the products from local makers is simply fantastic.’’
The Creators Market starts at 10am Saturday, finishing at 3pm at the McIntosh Centre, Shepparton showgrounds.
