Australia Day golf was played at Nagambie, with golfers encouraged to come wearing their green and gold.
Thirty-eight golfers managed to turn out for the stableford event with a sausage sizzle provided after the day’s round.
Maintaining the Australia Day theme, a barbecue meat tray was awarded to winner Lindsay Hall, who shot a very well controlled 41 points, with many suggesting the sprinklers not working across the previous few weeks also contributed to the win.
Runner-up was Bob McAdam playing some quality golf putting together a very tidy round of 40 points. Another that loves the run and many blame for the faulty sprinkler situation was club president Jeff Lodding, who was third with 39 points.
The nearest-the-pin prizes went to Steve Donnison going super close on the long par-3 eighth, Ryan Ezard working the ball against the wind with his left-handed strike on the 13th and Andrew Biggs firing a cracker into the solid head wind at the 16th.
Next week’s golf will be a stroke monthly medal. On office duty is S. Bryant and in the bar B. Leviston.
