Tocumwal were resuming at 6/67, chasing Barooga’s 9/207.
Unfortunately for Tocumwal, an early mix-up led to the unluckiest man on the day, Cooper Harris, being run out early.
Sam Bennett and Josh Wraight managed to steady the ship for a while before a few quick wickets left Tocumwal 9/101.
An excellent 10th wicket partnership between Wraight and Rod Meloury put pressure on Barooga, who were looking for quick wickets.
Wraight ended up caught on the boundary for an excellent score of 50, ending the innings at 135.
Meloury remained 13 not out.
With the ball in Barooga’s second innings, they came out looking for quick runs.
Liam Sutton bowled an excellent first spell, swinging the ball prodigiously bowling two of the top order.
Andy Arthur chipped in with a wicket off a well targeted bouncer.
Barooga decided to declare at 4/90.
With a target of 163, Tocumwal went out with the intention to work their way into the innings and chase the runs hard.
Cody Deegan and Peter Harrison worked hard to face out the swinging ball, helping make it easier for the rest of the team.
Harrison (32) and Lean (20) then built well to get the total to 1/58.
Unfortunately, when a wicket fell, a clump fell and Tocumwal slumped to 7/73.
Liam Sutton and Rod Meloury then went to work and in a brilliant rearguard partnership got us so close to the score.
After Liam fell for an excellent 39, Toc lost the last two wickets to some fantastic bowling to be all out for 152.
They were just 11 runs off a come-from-behind win, meaning Barooga took the outright win by 10 runs.
Rod Meloury was again left stranded with 41 not out.
It was a fantastic fight back from the Tocumwal side with contributions from everyone.
The team will pick themselves up again and be ready to go on Thursday in the T20 match against Cobram, at Cobram.
The two-day competition resumes the following week with Tocumwal away against Finley.
