The Tatura branch is hosting a reunion to celebrate its 20th anniversary, and junior branch co-ordinator Lyn Trezise is hoping to get back in contact with past members so they can come along.
Over the past 20 years, Mrs Trezise has seen many young girls come and go through the Rodney Junior CWA branch.
As she prepares for the reunion, she’s looking to find past members to join in on the celebrations and reminisce about their time as members.
“Back then, they only had home phone numbers, so I haven’t got any mobile phone numbers or emails,” Mrs Trezise said.
“I’ve got the odd ones, but some (older members) have moved on.”
Currently, the junior branch has 11 members, with the reunion aiming to connect past and present members.
“We have never advertised since we started,” Mrs Trezise said.
“We’ve never had to advertise for girls to come and join because it’s all word of mouth.”
Mrs Trezise, along with Gwen Ranson, started the junior branch 20 years ago, with many Rodney CWA members helping Mrs Trezise out.
The juniors can be aged between eight and 20 years of age, with the girls participating in crafts, cooking, arts and more, learning life skills.
“It’s lovely to see them interact with one another,” Mrs Trezise said.
“Over the years, we’ve done so many things.
“You see them grow up ... and then all of a sudden, 20 years is upon us.”
While the 20th anniversary will be on February 6, due to a Goulburn Valley West CWA conference taking place that weekend, the reunion will be on the following weekend.
The Rodney CWA Juniors reunion will be held on Sunday, February 16 at 2pm at the Tatura Bowls Club, 62 Service St, Tatura.
