Ladies Singles Final

On Tuesday morning in very warm conditions the final of the Ladies Singles final was played between Maree Lewis and Michele Shields. Michele got off to a great start winning the first 4 ends, Maree was finding the heat unbearable, and Michele went on to win the game. A big thank you to all the members who came along to support this game.
The final of the Men’s Singles will be played on Sunday, February 2 at 9.30am between Ian Lewis and Ian Bilney, everyone is invited to come along and watch a great final.
During the week the first round of the Mens’ Triples was played between Paul Hickey, Brendon Leach and Ray Ager against Bob Ronnfeldt, Ned Young and Shane Rosenow, after a very tight game Bob, Ned and Shane came out victorious.
On Thursday morning in windy conditions, another round of the Mixed Pairs was played between Ian Bilney and Jude Willett against John Dalgleish and Annette Norman, after a very tense battle John and Annette came away winning the game.
Last Sunday Corowa Civic hosted the Ovens & Murray – Men’s and Ladies State Novice Singles 2024-25.
The greens were in magnificent condition, a big thank you to all the markers for the day, umpires, the catering department, the bar department and green keeping department without your help we couldn’t host such an event.
Three greens were utilized for the big number of entries. John Dalgleish, Clint Snow, Shane Rosenow, Caroline Lewis and Denise Mihan represented our club, unfortunately, all bowed out before the semi-finals. We wish Jenny Petrie from Corowa RSL all the best, as Jenny has progressed to the last four players which will be played in Wodonga on Sunday 2 nd February.
After a few weeks' break for the Christmas New Year, Weekend Pennant commenced again on Saturday, it wasn’t a good start for Civic losing the three grades. A2 were home to Benalla and lost by 23 shots, B2 played their game at Corowa RSL and went down by 9 shots, and B3 travelled to Yackandandah and were defeated by 10 shots.

State Singles Championship Sunday 19th January
Corowa RSL Bowls hosted the Bowls Victoria State Singles Championship Sectional play.
Twenty-one District women participated in the event.
The individual winners on the day will play in Wodonga Sunday February 2nd.
Our Lady Novice Singles player Jenny Petrie will play at Wodonga too.
