Yarrawonga College P-12, (YCP-12) embraces Education Week and truly identifies with this year’s theme of ‘Active Learners make, move, motivate by celebrating hands-on learning, activity, and student voice’.
Every person learns in a different way, and it is important that this is clearly recognised by all education institutions to ensure that they are providing learning opportunities that consider individuals learning strengths.
Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences refers to Active Learning as Bodily Kinaesthetic Learning with YCP-12 providing many opportunities for students to learn in this way. Physical activity and creating something with our hands is a great way to learn in a very real and engaging way.
Take a look at some of the opportunities YCP-12 provides for students and teachers to learn and grow through active learning and hands on approaches through the Education Week advertisement.
From when students begin in Prep right through to when they are working towards choosing their future pathways in the senior school, students have multiple opportunities to learn in an active bodily kinaesthetic way.
