Murchison head coach Alice Cunningham heralded the performances from her defensive duo, Kelsey McDonald and Holly Guerra, and hoped it could continue its form.
‘‘I was very happy with our performance last round against Merrigum, I thought our defenders played extremely well,’’ Cunningham said.
‘‘Kelsey and Holly were influential in stopping their tall attack, I was really pleased with how they performed together.
‘‘All our shooters shot extremely well and I thought Jess Cunningham was brilliant in the midcourt.
‘‘We just need to improve our court structure and efficiency moving the ball down the court.’’
Cunningham was unsure what to expect from Prue Holmes’ Violet Town outfit, conceding she hadn’t seen a great deal from the side sitting in fifth spot.
‘‘I’m not too sure what to expect from them honestly, we’ll wait and see what they bring to the table,’’ she said.
‘‘Hopefully we can just bring the same level of intensity to this weekend like we did against Merrigum.’’
