The pump track project at the former Echuca East Recreation Reserve is the fourth and final stage of redevelopment at the site as part of a council strategy.
The Echuca East Reserve Master Plan 2016-2025 was outlined to meet the needs of existing user groups and identify new opportunities for other users.
A council spokesperson said the plan presented an opportunity to review the facilities with the intention of creating a community hub that met existing and future needs of residents.
Community consultation was undertaken as part of the plan, with feedback identifying a preference for a redevelopment of the area.
The fourth stage of redevelopments began in mid-June this year with tree removal, followed by construction of a bike skills area and the pump track.
Irrigation and drainage works were also completed, as well as work on a network of connecting paths in the area.
A pump track is a loop with a series of rollers and berms (banked turns) that, when ridden properly, does not require pedalling a bike.
Previous stages of the master plan included the construction of a multi-purpose building and play space, dog zones and open spaces, and car parking on Sutton St.
A bike maintenance stand and water fountain will be installed at the site in the near future.
