With two performances today at Riverlinks Westside in Mooroopna, Initial Stages owner Helen Janke said the show was one the whole family could enjoy.
"The show is based on Disneys story of Mulan who dressed as a boy and ran away to war to save her father," Ms Janke said.
"It's the junior version so it only runs for an hour but its got all the characters from the movies that the kids would recognise."
Ms Janke said the audience would recognise the main characters such as the dragon, the lucky cricket, Mulan and the matchmaker, performing hit songs form the movie including I'll make a man out of you, Keep them guessing and Girl worth fighting for.
She said the cast of 50, who ranged in age in from seven to 12, had been working to perfect the show since the start of the year.
"They've been working on it since the start of the year so it's a really big thing," Ms Janke said.
"We were very lucky to get amazing costumes, it is just a very bright, colourful and fast-paced show that kids of all ages would love."
With a running time of one hour, Ms Janke encouraged families to come along to one of the performances today.
She said the show would not have been possible without the support of director Jacquie Monk and choreographer Melanie Matthews.
Initial Stages production of Mulan is on today at Riverlinks Westside in Mooroopna with two performances, at 2pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children.
