It may seem like deja vu, but another Morrison Medal-winning Seymour star is off to the Ovens and Murray League.

Dual Goulburn Valley League senior best-and-fairest winner Jack O’Sullivan blazed the trail in November 2023, signing on as playing co-coach of Wodonga Bulldogs.
A year on — almost to the day — another Lion has left Kings Park to head north-east.
Hard nut on-baller and 2022 Morrison medallist Ben Rigoni was recently announced as a recruit of fast-rising O&M side North Albury.
The Hoppers made finals for the first time since 2015 in the most recent season, reaching the preliminary round before being knocked out by eventual premier Wangaratta Rovers.
While he is undoubtedly a big loss for Seymour, he wasn’t exactly ever-present for Ben Davey’s side in 2024.
Rigoni only featured four times for the Lions last campaign, still averaging 22.5 disposals, 11.8 contested possessions, 9.2 tackles, 7.2 ground ball gets and four inside 50s a game.
Instead, the bulk of his time was spent at Piranha Park, playing 12 times for Coburg in the VFL with a per-game average of 13.1 disposals.
Rigoni is a former Calder Cannon and GVL interleague player, donning the purple and gold during a hair-raising defeat to the O&M in 2023.
Meanwhile, another jet from Seymour and surrounds has landed in an O&M club’s lap.
Tom O’Sullivan has joined his older brother Jack at Wodonga Bulldogs en route from Greensborough in Northern Football League.
Like Rigoni, the young defender/midfielder is a Calder Cannons graduate and played VFL football for North Melbourne either side of his 17 senior appearances for Seymour throughout 2022 and 2023.
While neither Rigoni nor O’Sullivan were major staples in the GVL in 2024, one high-profile exit from the league certainly was.
Kyabram has been on a signing blitz throughout the off-season, however, one of the Bombers’ big men has packed his bags for the metro leagues.
Marcus Khoo has signed with East Keilor in Essendon District Football League, moving on after a season where he grew in confidence game by game when helping the Bombers out of a bind.
Khoo was recruited from the QAFL to replace injured ruckman Zac Norris, averaging 10.8 contested possessions, 5.1 clearances and 36.7 clearances (5.7 to advantage).
However, Norris’ return from an AC joint issue left question marks over how the two would work in the Bombers’ system.
Khoo finished as runner-up in Kyabram’s best-and-fairest count behind Liam Odgen in 2024.
