Fire Rescue Victoria has announced the Emergency Services Family Day will be held on Sunday, November 10, at Victoria Park Lake in Shepparton.
“Shepparton is a growing regional centre with a vibrant and diverse community, so this is a great opportunity for us to connect with the people we serve,” FRV assistant chief fire officer Steve Pitcher said.
“It’s going to be a great day for all the family and we’re looking forward to meeting as many people as possible from all across the Shepparton community.”
The family-focused event is a collaborative effort involving multiple organisations, including the CFA, Ambulance Victoria, SES, Victoria Police, Greater Shepparton City Council and many other agencies.
For children, there will be an exciting line-up of fun activities designed to engage and entertain, including live demonstrations and face painting.
Plus, there is a unique opportunity to climb aboard fire trucks and other emergency vehicles for photos.
At the heart of the event lies the spirit of community connection, bringing people together to celebrate Shepparton’s first responders and learn about the life-saving work they do.
“Working in emergency services is all about keeping the community safe, so it’s terrific to have the chance to chat with people about our work,” Mr Pitcher said.
“If you’ve ever been curious about what we do or how to keep your loved ones safe in an emergency, come along and find out.”
The Emergency Services Family Day is on Sunday, November 10, from 10am to 3pm at Victoria Park Lake, 520 Wyndham St, Shepparton.
Entry is free.
