Players from across Victoria descended upon Shepparton for a regional tennis event at the weekend.

Tennis Victoria’s Regional Team Event Series swept through Shepparton Lawn Tennis Club on Saturday and Sunday, allowing some of the state’s burgeoning juniors to showcase their wares.
The showcase had 128 juniors converge from nine Victorian regional teams, including the home-based Goulburn Valley outfit, across four age divisions: 10-and-under, 12-and-under, 14-and-under as well as the under-18 Junior Open category.
The action was fast and furious as teams of the best from regions far and wide took the opportunity to nab some additional exposure and perform on a state-level stage.
The weekend carnival was the second and final instalment of the regional team series for 2024 after Bendigo hosted the initial event in late April, but November 30 and December 1 will tick off the calendar with a competitive under-12 event in Melbourne.
