Franklin attended a three-day camp in Melbourne participating in a diverse range of activities and played in the Flying Boomerang Under 15 team.
This then leads to a possible selection into 2025 AFL Under 15 Indigenous Academy to be announced shortly and then playing overseas in Papua New Guinea.
Franklin’s football journey began in his early years at Corowa Public School, where he first took to the field as part of the Auskick program.
Now a Year 9 student at Corowa High School, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional talent and commitment on the field.
From his early days with the Corowa Rutherglen Junior Football Club, where he progressed through the under 12s to the under 16s, Franklin’s prowess has been evident.
Franklin’s mother Rhonda Wright said her son’s dedication to the sport has been fuelled by his early experiences and the mentorship of his great-grandfather, has driven him towards his dream of playing in the AFL.
Ms Wright recently expressed her pride in her son’s achievements and the critical role played by the Corowa Rutherglen Junior Football Club’s coaching staff, including Wayne Patton, Davis Coppolino, Dave Anderson and Beau Longmire.
“Their guidance has been crucial in Franklin’s development,” she said.
“Our family, including Franklin’s aunties Rachel Robinson Minogue and Tracey Robinson, and his uncle Pat, have also been a tremendous support, coaching him at home.”
