Kristen Quirk and Bethan McKay have both accepted an invitation to join the board.
Born and raised in Barooga, Mrs Quirk has a long association with Sporties going back to her childhood.
Mrs Quirk’s late father, Barrie Quinane, served on the board for over 25 years.
“I have many fond childhood memories at the Sporties,” Mrs Quirk said.
“Many Friday nights were spent at the club. Dad sold raffle tickets while we entertained ourselves in the kids’ room.”
Mrs Quirk is a financial adviser by occupation. She brings to her new position a wealth of financial and legal knowledge and experience.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to be a voice for members and contribute to the future growth and success of Sporties Barooga,” she said.
In 2015, Bethan McKay moved to Barooga with her family — and has loved it ever since.
“We love living in Barooga. It has a great community feel,” she said.
“The convenience of everything, including the golf course close to our front door, makes life easy. Over the past eight years, it has been wonderful seeing the development and growth of our small town.
“I believe we all play a part in doing our bit for future generations. I look forward to seeing and enjoying the growth of this amazing town in the coming years.”
Mrs McKay works as a technical officer at Moira Shire Council, and looks forward to bringing her expertise in waste minimisation, strategy and environmental sustainability to her new role at Sporties.
