Opening day is next Saturday, with the club running the opening round of the club fours at 12.30pm for 1pm start.
Teams have been drawn up by the match committee from the list of players that have indicated their availability. The draw will be completed this week and advised via team app and email.
Members who are not playing are still invited to attend the opening day. Len Magee and Karen Bruce will roll the first kitty and bowl for the coming season.
To assist with catering, it is suggested that every household bring along a plate for opening day so we can have afternoon tea following the completion of the club fours.
Various practice matches are being organised for intra-club matches as well as the ones organised on September 21, 24 and 29, so keep your eyes and ears open for these.
Ladies trade day season begins on September 19 at 10am, with first game at Berrigan, so it is time to get your teams together for the coming season.
Chinese meals for lunch will be available to order before start of play or bring your own lunch as usual.
If any member does not have the team app installed or is currently having trouble with the app, please see Archie or Ruth to correct your problem.
It is important you are kept up to date with what is being planned and what is happening in the club as it happens and Team App can do this.
Live scoring is happening in division one in both Saturday and midweek pennant this season.
Live scoring is a simple app that you use on your phone and log in to Bowlslink and record scores as it is happening. This season, as a backup, we will also use scorecards but eventually in the future the use of scorecards will disappear.
Any team member selected as a second in division one in midweek or Saturday pennant will need to be aware of using live scoring and able to do so. Information about using live scoring is available at www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmzwqAfcDow
Note you will need to be able to log into Bowlslink so please ensure you are able to do so.
Another new feature on Bowlslink is the ability of team managers to “shuffle” the teams entered on Bowlslink before the start of play instead of using the “cards on the table” method.
Team managers be aware of this new innovation. All this may sound scary but in actual fact is easy once tried.
