Backpacks 4 Vic Kids is set to receive over $4000 from the Officeworks Make a Difference Appeal, thanks to the generosity of the Shepparton community.
The appeal, which ran throughout June, encouraged customers to donate at the checkout in-store or online, with funds going directly to local community organisations.
“We are so proud to have raised more than $4000 for Backpacks 4 Vic Kids and thrilled to have seen our passion for the cause mirrored in our local community,” Officeworks Shepparton store business manager Paul Trewren said.
“Officeworks Shepparton is honoured to support Backpacks 4 Vic Kids, helping to provide valuable resources and support to carry out their vital work. I would like to thank each and every customer who donated to this year’s Make a Difference Appeal helping to make a positive difference in the lives of Australian children.”
The Shepparton store's fundraising has contributed to the total of $57,000 raised for Backpacks 4 Vic Kids by Officeworks stores during the appeal. Nationally, the Make a Difference Appeal raised more than $830,000 to directly help 16 local community organisations.
Backpacks 4 Vic Kids chief executive and founder Sally Beard expressed gratitude for the partnership with Officeworks.
“The funds raised by Officeworks will enable Backpacks 4 Vic Kids to complete and deliver at least 570 fully packed My Essentials Packs, delivering a value of $273,600 to the hands of children when they need it most,” she said.
