Man in custody over woman's body found at rubbish tip

Police believe her body was originally inside a bin picked up outside a property in the nearby suburb of Coolaroo on July 2 and taken to the tip.

The woman, who is still yet to be formally identified, is believed to be a 67-year-old Coolaroo woman.

Homicide squad detectives arrested a 45-year-old Coolaroo man at Glenroy on Tuesday morning.

Charges are yet to be laid ahead of a police interview.

It's believed the pair were known to each other, police said.

Detectives are still canvassing for CCTV and dashcam footage taken in Coolaroo from June 23 to July 2.

Anyone who saw suspicious behaviour or has relevant footage has been asked to contact investigators.
