With the school boasting a detailed STEM program for students in all year levels, Education Week will be a fun-filled week featuring all of the students favourite activities and programs.
At Wilmot Road Primary School, students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of clubs, including the Digitech club, which is a weekly lunchtime club on coding and robotics.
Students in this club will be able to showcase all the skills they’ve learnt during Education Week, and all students will be able to participate in fun science experiment demonstrations at lunchtimes during the week.
Students across all year levels participate in weekly Information and Communication Technology classes, with the older year levels getting the chance to work on some different projects that will be showcased to the other classes during Education Week.
In Years 3 and 4, students have been creating their own podcast radio show, and in Years 5 and 6, students have been participating in their own virtual scavenger hunt using Google Earth, finding many interesting places around the world.
Also, during their weekly ICT classes, students have learnt more about coding and programming through coding robots like beebots, ozobots, sphero bots and the LEGO Coding express train.
Culminating the week will be the annual Wonders of Wilmot WOW awards, with students receiving awards for excelling in all areas of the curriculum.
Education Week plans to be a big one for students at Wilmot Road Primary School, that all are looking forward to.
