After establishing himself as one of the most exciting young midfielders in the AFL, Gulden has started 2024 in terrific form, ranked No.1 in the competition for total metres gained and third across the league for inside-50s and score involvements.
The 21-year-old, who joined the Sydney Swans Academy at the age of 11, had a breakout season in 2023, earning his first All-Australian blazer, finishing fourth in the Brownlow Medal, and winning the Bob Skilton Medal as the Swans' club champion.
Gulden was drafted in 2020 with pick No.32 and made his debut in the opening round of the 2021 season. He had an immediate impact, finishing his first game with three goals, 19 disposals and a Rising Star nomination.
He had an impressive debut season, kicking 14 goals from 18 games, claiming the Swans' Rising Star Award, and crowned the AFLPA's Best First Year Player.
Gulden said he loves the club, and that the decision to stay put was an easy one.
"I feel honoured to have the club put their faith in me for another four years," he said.
"From my time developing in the academy, to walking through the doors in 2020 as an AFL listed player, this place has always felt like home to me.
"We're building something special here and I'm grateful to be a part of the journey."
Swans' football chief Leon Cameron said he was thrilled to see Gulden commit to the club.
"It's fantastic to see Errol commit his future to the red and white,'' Cameron said.
"Errol is a respected member of this playing group and a core part of our club's future.
"His work ethic is something to be admired, he is always looking to improve. He has shown remarkable consistency and continues to perform week in and week out at a high level."
