Teacher Megan Doller informed her art class two weeks ago about the exciting chance to have their work featured on the team’s uniform.
“My class of about 25 students took part in the competition,” Paige said.
“We looked on Google for inspiration and the colours of the Rochy uniforms and then we went through the design process.
“The design process was done on paper, using pencils and textas, or what we felt were the most suitable items.”
Over many sessions, Paige’s design began to take shape.
“The design process involved a series of sketches and then I refined the jersey. And then I did a good copy on a sheet of paper that was like a printout photo,” Paige said.
The design was completed in only two-and-a-half hours.
The competition was part of a Campaspe Cohuna Local Learning and Employment Network initiative to inspire the next generation of clothing designers.
“If my design was to be used, I think that would be exciting,” Paige said.
“In the future, I would like to pursue a career related to English or art.”
