Illegal fireworks sold on social media

About 100kg of commercial fireworks, weapons, drugs, cash and a motorbike were seized from two Craigieburn homes and three Campbellfield businesses.

Police will allege the fireworks were advertised for sale on social media platforms.

Commercial fireworks are classed as a type of explosive and banned for public use because they can be extremely dangerous in untrained hands.

A 37-year-old Craigieburn man has been charged with possessing explosives and other offences. He was released on bail to face court at a later date.
