With overcast skies forecast, fingers will be crossed that the first day of play in the opening two-day round goes ahead without interruption.
That is because the round six matches are headlined with a clash between undefeated Cooma and second-placed Tongala.
The Blues will travel Cooma Recreation Reserve and try to knock off the ladder leader from its perch.
But standing in the way are two of the top three batsmen in the competition.
Cooma’s Steve Barrett sits on 231 runs for the season - with a mesmerising average of 115.50 - while teammate Michael Hill has an average of 47.5 and 190 runs to his name.
With the ball in hand, Cooma's Drew Barrett has claimed seven wickets and has a strike-rate of 20.29, the second best in the competition from bowlers with more than 20 overs.
However, Tongala has a premier all-rounder in Daniel Coombs, who leads his side in runs and wickets.
After an impressive 89 in round four, Coombs has jumped inside the top five leading run-scorers with 177.
There is another top four battle tomorrow when Kyabram Fire Brigade welcomes third-placed Moama to its home deck.
With last week's matches re-scheduled for December 15, the Flames did not end up sharing the points with Cooma.
Elsewhere, Rochester takes on Echuca South in a crucial contest that could define the reigning premier's season.
Rochester is outside the top four and cannot afford a loss to the bottom side South.
Lastly, Echuca will be gunning for its second win of the season when it hosts on Bamawm-Lockington United.
