Women from the Greater Shepparton region had the opportunity to ask health professionals a range of questions last night, without even visiting a doctor’s clinic.

More than 140 women attended the annual Women’s Health Information Night at the University of Melbourne in Shepparton.
The event, which sold out in two days, gave women the opportunity to listen to local practitioners speak about issues affecting women of all ages.
The event, hosted by Shepparton Women’s Health Centre, also gave women the chance to privately ask the professionals personal questions.
Centre practice manager Josie Murdoch said organisers of the event undertook extensive research and conducted public surveys about what women would like to learn about.
“We aim to talk about issues which people in the community have requested,” Ms Murdoch said.
“We really want to give back to the community, and because it sells out so quickly it’s obvious that women are interested in learning about these topics.”
Physical and mental health topics were put under the microscope, including sleep problems, heart health, anxiety and breast health.
Although serious issues were discussed, the ice was broken with a range of fun activities, including a raffle, with generous prizes donated by local businesses.
