The ex-Bulldog is expected to miss about 12 weeks of training as he recovers from surgery to repair a left elbow dislocation.
George, cruelled by injury throughout his budding AFL career, sustained the ill-fated knock during an off-season training session while in Wangaratta.
North Melbourne general manager of football Todd Viney offered words of support for the 19-year-old.
“This is disappointing news for Brayden, especially after being sidelined for his whole first season with us,” Viney said.
“He returned to full, unrestricted training in August and was looking forward to getting stuck into his first pre-season in the coming weeks.
“Brayden has shown tremendous strength of character and resilience during his ACL rehab this year and we know he will attack this injury with the same attitude.
“While this will obviously impact his pre-season, we expect Brayden to be back running soon with the aim to return to full unrestricted training in approximately 12 weeks.
“We don’t expect the injury to impact his availability for the upcoming season.”
George grew up at Girgarre, playing his formative football for the Kangaroos and Tatura before moving to Wangaratta to complete his schooling.
He was snapped up by North Melbourne from Murray Bushrangers at pick 26 in the 2022 AFL Draft, but was sidelined for the entire 2023 season due to an ACL injury sustained during his final game for the Bushies last year.
