Fabulous memories were made, friendships were strengthened and a fun time was had by all the riders, siblings and their parents.
Instructor Julie Duffy took it all in her stride, instructing riders aged from nine to 19 years.
Activities including flat work, poles, jumping, teamwork, archery, the amazing race/treasure hunt and finishing with pairs in a dressage competition after a delicious dinner shared together in the clubrooms.
Shepparton Pony Club caters for riders starting at five years of age and this year offers adult rider memberships.
Pony Club provides the opportunity to experience a mounted ‘come and try’ visit to two rallies prior to committing to an annual membership fee.
Rallies are held on the first Sunday of each month except for September, when the rally is on the second Sunday, allowing for Father’s Day.
Additionally, organisers run a camp, various activities and competitions throughout the year.
The monthly rallies consist of riders separating into groups of similar experience levels, each led by an instructor and swapping at hourly intervals, so everyone gets to experience three disciplines within a rally.
There is a break for lunch after the second session.
The first competition for 2025 is the Dressage and Show Jumping competition on Saturday, February 15 and Sunday, February 16.
The club caters for the least experienced rider through to experienced, with classes ranging from ungraded right through to advanced.
