The date is the final school day before the Term 3 school holidays.
The team members have a reason to be passionate about finding a cure for cancer as their friend and fellow student Ryder had leukaemia when he was younger.
“I think it’s a great idea to raise money for people who are less fortunate than ourselves,” Olly said.
“We are so happy that we were able to reach the first of $5000 and in the next two weeks we want to pass the $10,000 mark.
While it is the group’s first time taking part in such a fundraiser, it won’t be its last.
“We’re excited to shave our heads for such a great cause,” Olly said of the upcoming event.
St Mary’s Primary School principal Jasmine Ryan gave her thoughts on the generosity of the Year 6 students.
“The students approached myself and asked if they were able to take part in this year’s event,” Mrs Ryan said.
“The boys arranged the hairdressers for the day along with the public relations and all the associated graphics and design work for the media campaign.”
