In the last elimination final in the first round of finals, the Lions came up against an in-form Tatura side on the court at Moon Oval.
Seymour aimed to keep its hopes of back-to-back flags alive, but injuries to two key players, Casey Adamson and Sarah Szczykulski, left the side vulnerable.

Tatura outplayed the Lions for most of the game and eventually won 57 to 30.
The loss was hard to take for the Lions, but Seymour coach Ellie Fuhrmeister thought her players did everything they could.
“Tat came out firing from the first whistle, and we tried where we could, but they beat us across the whole court,” Fuhrmeister said.
“It’s disappointing for us seeing that our season is over now, but I think we have a really good young group of girls there, and we will build next year.
“We tried, and there were good moments, but Tat were just way too strong.
“We’ve been hit with a few injuries this season, but Casey (Adamson) and Sarah (Szczykulski) are both injured at the moment, so they were unable to play, which was unfortunate.
“I think Courtney Aldous was outstanding; she worked so hard all day. She came up with plenty of ball for us, but we couldn’t convert that into goals.
“Rosie O’Sullivan was a leader for us on the court as well.”

Tatura started quickly, scoring 15 goals in the first quarter to Seymour’s eight.
The Bulldogs continued to pull away in the second spell, holding the Lions to five goals for the quarter while scoring another 15.
Seymour’s best quarter was the third, but Tatura still outscored it by two goals.

The last quarter was high-scoring, and the Bulldogs did not take their foot off the pedal as they secured a spot in the next round of finals.
As one season ends, another is right around the corner for Fuhrmeister, who is excited by what the team could achieve in the future.
“I think we have a really good netball program happening at the Lions at the moment,” she said.
“We’ve got a really good group of girls and there is so much talent.
“In the game yesterday (Sunday, September 3) we saw Lucy Zotti and Georgia Engel take the court for A-grade.
“There is certainly some depth at Seymour, and hopefully, we will be able to contend again next season.”
Locked in: Seymour’s Jess Lallo.
