The youth-focused non-profit is undertaking an initiative called 1000 Conversations.
Rooted in listening and learning from the Greater Shepparton community, this approach invites 1000 individuals to voice their insights, ideas and concerns to shape a brighter future for the region’s young people.
Through facilitated conversations, the project seeks to address important questions that will help create an environment for local youth to thrive.
GSLP has previously done the 1000 Conversations project in 2015 and 2018, with a smaller version, known as 101 Conversations, in 2020.
“We believe that the collective wisdom of our community is invaluable,” GSLP executive officer Amy Robinson said.
“The 1000 Conversations project empowers every voice to contribute to the discussion about what it truly takes to ensure that young individuals have the opportunity to lead happy, healthy and prosperous lives.
“This project is not just about collecting data; it’s about listening to our community, understanding their insights, and working together to make a positive impact.”
The 1000 Conversations project will result in a report highlighting specific issues and ideas emerging from the discussions.
GSLP invites young people, parents, educators, service groups, organisations and businesses to participate in the project.
The conversations are under way, and the initiative will continue until October 13.
