Cumhur and Sukran Keskin, aged 41 and 38, were given intensive corrections orders on Thursday after pleading guilty to more than 20 charges of importing and supplying prohibited drugs through their company Evolution Supplements.
The pair were arrested and charged in 2022 after police raided their home and business in Sydney's west and found thousands of dollars in cash, illegal steroids and imported growth hormones.
Sukran Keskin was sentenced to a nine-month order while her former husband received two years for his heightened involvement in the scheme.
Judge Justin Smith said the offending was below the mid-range of seriousness.
"While the importation was performed for profit, there's no evidence of a lavish lifestyle," he said in the District Court on Thursday.
The judge said he believed Sukran Keskin was remorseful for her actions and took adequate blame for her role in the business - which her husband registered under her name.
"Sukran said she was disgusted in herself, while she tended to blame her husband, she said she knew he was ordering illegal items in her name," he said.
Cumhur Keskin, who has multiple mental illnesses and an alcohol addiction, was said to have grown up in a "household characterised by the violence and aggression of his father".
"He subsequently became concerned about his physical appearance and took up bodybuilding and supplements in his early 20s," Judge Smith told the court.
"He has a grand paranoia regarding his body image which led him towards supplements."
He pleaded guilty to 11 counts of supplying prohibited drugs and one count of dealing with the proceeds of crime.
He will need to abstain from alcohol and do 100 hours of community service before he is released from his order in July 2025.
Sukran Keskin pleaded guilty to 10 counts of supplying prohibited drugs and one count of dealing with the proceeds of crime.
Her order will end in March 2024.
