And while the spirit of her clients has inspired her, she said it was the camaraderie between colleagues that she had to thank for an admirable career.
“Getting to work with people that have the same ethos as you and seeing the joy that different things bring them is special,” Sacha said.
“When staff would come back and have a gain for a client, you would all share in that and see how happy that would make them.”
The intake duty officer said every day of work was different, but the engagement with the community and encouragement from other staff members had been her driving force.
And to those considering a career with Community Interlink, Sacha says you will be surprised how much enjoyment comes out of the job.
“It’s challenging, particularly in the current environment. But the reason you do the job and the clients you work with remain the same … the support you get from people that work at Community Interlink is amazing.
“They are a beautiful bunch of people who would bend over backwards to help you out and help you learn — it’s a really supportive environment.”
