Into the Woods
Echuca-Moama Theatre Company is rolling out the red carpet for Shepparton talent in its upcoming production of Into the Woods. Prepare to be enchanted as locals take centre stage in this darkly comic musical that intertwines the classic Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales, exploring the consequences of wishes and the complex nature of human desires. If you’re curious to see what happens when you mix a baker, a witch, a couple of princes and a handful of beanstalks, grab your tickets for one of five shows this weekend.

Miami 80s in Paradise with Farren Jones

Cat Adoption Day
Looking for a furry friend this winter? The Greater Shepparton Animal Shelter’s Cat Adoption Day is here. Over 40 adorable cats and kittens await a loving home and their ideal human companion. Adoption fees for cats over 12 months of age are $30, while the adoption fee for kittens is $100. All cats have been vet-checked, desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and treated for worms and fleas and are ready to take home on the day. Upcycling series: Bird feeders
Learn how to use recyclable materials to create bird feeders in the new upcycling series. Bring some paper towel, toilet paper or plastic bottles to put to good use and create a place for birds to eat! Even though it’s getting colder outside, there are still plenty of birds around. So rug up, show up and make something that can be used a second time and that’s good for the environment.

Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow
Australia’s biggest and best comedy roadshow is returning to Shepparton! Showcasing the finest talents from the 2024 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, a dose of laughter will be right at your doorstep. Expect a line-up of beloved comedy royalty alongside the freshest sensations from the festival, all in one hilarious show that guarantees nationwide laughs. Intro to Nature Journaling
Anyone can nature journal, so why not head along to a beginner’s workshop into the creative practice? Nature journaling is about observing and connecting with nature in whatever way works for you. There are many ways to nature journal, and the most important part is that you don’t need to be an artist to give it a go! All materials will be provided, and you’ll get your very own kit to take home.

The Physicists
Brace yourselves for a plunge into the unknown with the Shepparton Theatre Arts Group’s production of The Physicists by Friedrich Dürrenmatt. However, approach with caution! The Big Dunk
Coaches and community figures will get the Big Dunk this Sunday to raise money to fight MND. Mooroopna Junior Football Club is collaborating with the Shepparton Women’s Health Centre to raise money to help fight MND and for the Karen Gladigau Foundation, named after a local Shepparton woman who sadly lost her fight earlier this year. MND Beanies will be available for purchase on the day, and all profits from the gate and dunking attempts will go directly to the foundation.
