The 2022/2023 season of the Finley Amateur Swimming Club came to a close on Saturday morning with the presentation of awards.

There was a large contingent of families, including many excited members who have worked so hard and consistently to improve their skills in the water.
The final results can be found in the sporting section, however Tom Billings from Koality Downunder Services - the major sponsor of the championships - was on hand to make a special presentation to Abby Tanner and Toby Loughridge.
This award, labelled ‘Koality Kids’, was for effort, attendance, participation and a positive attitude.
Tom encouraged all young people to join the club and learn to be safe in the water.
After the serious business of presentation was finished, the members took advantage of the water slide which had been set up on the hill.

The members of Can Assist Finley would like to thank the community for the generous support given to the street stall held recently.
The very well stocked venue raised $1244 on the day, and the organisers would especially like to thank the members for their donations of goodies and assistance on the day.
Winning the raffle’s first prize, a $100 IGA voucher, was Helen Hanlon.
The beautiful large plush toy was won by Jenny McNamara.

Callum Tanner and Will and Dan Harris were busy keeping up with demand for the fresh cut watermelon grown on the Harris farm at the fete.
The organisers of the Finley Public School fete held last Friday, St Patrick’s Day, were delighted with the success and response from the community.
There were several stalls including some from other organisations and small businesses from around the area.
It was amazing to observe the thought and creativity put into the activities organised by the students themselves.
Many took advantage of the barbecue and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of getting together with family and friends.
Nola Pinnuck, Sheila Laxton and Lyn Little enjoyed the hydroponics plant stall at the Finley Public School Fete.

Unfortunately the budgerigar bird show which was to have been held on Sunday had to be postponed until April 2 due to heat regulations.
