Seymour ag scholarship awarded to Luella

A smart cookie: Luella Drinnan has received the 2023 Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society scholarship.

The Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society has announced Luella Drinnan from Wahring as the winner of its annual scholarship, worth $5000.

The scholarship aims to help young achievers in the district who want to contribute to rural Australia and those who donate help facilitate this.

Ms Drinnan is enrolled in her third year at University of Melbourne majoring in Environmental Science and specialising in Natural Resources and Hazards.

Her degree consists of a diverse mix of science areas including chemistry, biology, geology and geography and focuses on sustainable resource management.

Ms Drinnan comes from a farming background and hopes to use her Bachelor of Science degree to work in the area of environmental science and agriculture.

She aims to help farmers access information, education and funding to adopt sustainable farming practices for long-term soil and ecosystem health, leading to greater financial security.
