Cyclists of all ages and abilities will hit the track along Yarrawonga foreshore for a criterium event on Saturday, August 20, before a 55km memorial race named after Woofa on Sunday.
A heart attack claimed the life of the Yarrawonga cycling legend in November 2017, at age 67.
Davis was a well-known figure in the local cycling community and rode with many clubs in the region, including Yarrawonga, Hume Vets and Cobram-Barooga cycling clubs.
Davis competed in many prestigious races, including Melbourne to Warrnambool, Melbourne to Yarrawonga and a variety of track championships.
Saturday’s criterium race will race along the Yarrawonga foreshore and Hunt St, starting from Bank and Ely Sts at 12.10pm.
On Sunday, the road race starts at 9.30am from the Yarrawonga CFA running track.
Both events are open to A, B and C-grades and 13-and-over, with an 11-and-under support race also available for entry.
Presentations for Saturday’s races will be at the Club Mulwala RSL from 6pm. Sunday’s presentations will take place straight after racing finishes.
