The six students ran the 2km course against 284 other school aged competitors.
The course on Mount Panorama tested all levels of agility over typically Australian terrain - sand, bark, gravel, grass, dirt, mud and obstacles!
Berrigan competitors included Year 6 students Jordan Swann, Nicholas Arnold and Sophie Baxter and Year 5 students Oliver Batten, Jack Phillips and Marius Redegalli.
The team ranked 14th overall on the day.
“We are all thankful for the opportunity presented to us and thank our amazing families for the support in getting us there,” the students wrote in their post-event report.
The students also provided their own personal take on being involved in the championships.
“Even though it was only 2km it felt like 5km,” Jack said.
“It was a very energy consuming course. It really tested me,” Oliver added.
For Marius it was “fun and (I) enjoyed every metre of the course” while Nicholas said it was “a once in a lifetime opportunity that I was glad I had”.
Jordan and Sophie both commented that while the course was gruelling, they would compete again if given the chance.
“It was a great experience even though it was tough,” Jordan said.
“It was fun but hard! I would definitely do it again,” Sophie added.
