The free family event is the first of its kind and will be held at Cobram’s Federation Park.
Attendees will be able to enjoy food stalls and live music as well as watch demonstrations by the various organisations participating.
Cobram Rotary Club member Ian Collins said the genesis of the expo was to highlight the importance of the multiple clubs in Cobram and their influence on life in the town and surrounding areas.
“The Cobram Rotary Community Expo is an opportunity for the clubs and organisations themselves and the people of Cobram to see what the town has to offer,” Mr Collins said
“After visiting clubs in Cobram I came to realise the importance of them to our community.”
Mr Collins counts more than 50 clubs operating within Cobram and surrounding areas.
Among the groups who will be exhibiting at the event are Cobram SES and CFA units and the Strathmerton First Aiders.
There will also be exercise and recreational clubs as well as local arts and crafts groups.
Along with demonstrations, participants will be able to take part in different activities.
Mr Collins hopes the expo will inspire people, especially young people, to join a club or organisation.
However, he stresses that many of the clubs participating at the expo aren’t about volunteering and are more geared to social and recreational activities as well as community bonding.
“Cobram has so many volunteer clubs around the town that I do not believe that the people of Cobram realise what is available for them to participate in or help as a volunteer,” Mr Collins said.
“Without the existence of clubs and organisations, the town of Cobram and surrounding areas would not have the facilities or social life that the town has today.”
