The funds, provided through the Corowa RSL Club’s ClubGrants scheme, will go towards the cost of providing free entertainment to those attending the October show next year.
The Corowa Show has a proud history 140 year plus history, providing great family friendly fun for local families. It was decided in 2004 that entertainment for would be free of charge for those attending.
This year the show provided a very popular snake display which was not only entertaining but also taught the correct skills required if you were to encounter or be bitten by a snake.
Show secretary Jan McKenna thanked the RSL Club for their contributuion to the much-loved country event.
“We are so appreciative to the Corowa RSL Club for their generous grant of $2000,” she said.
“This will ensure the show continues to thrive in the future. Any support the show receives goes a long way, and we hope more volunteers will jump on board and support our ageing committee.”
Corowa RSL Club CEO, Mr Peter Norris said the club was pleased to be able to support the Corowa Show.
“These ClubGRANTS are just one of the many ways The Corowa RSL Club is able to provide support, services, and facilities for the betterment of our local community,” he said.
Each year through ClubGRANTS, clubs across NSW provide support to tens of thousands of local community organisations, sporting groups, and charities that make a difference in their local area. With more than $1 billion in funding provided since the program’s inception, ClubGRANTS is without doubt one of the largest and most effective grants programs in Australia. The program is made possible through the support of NSW clubs, local councils and the NSW Government.
