Minister for Health Martin Foley visited Bendigo Health on Monday to announce the launch of the rollout to regional Victoria.
“The vaccine is safe, effective and free, and it’s fantastic to see thousands of Victorians have already been vaccinated as part of the slow and steady rollout," he said.
The first to be vaccinated will include hotel quarantine and health hotel workers, airport and port workers, and frontline health staff in COVID-19 screening clinics, specialist COVID-19 wards, intensive care units and emergency departments.
Hubs will also deliver the vaccine to public sector residential aged care residents and workers, with the Commonwealth responsible for providing the vaccine to private residential aged care and disability care facilities.
It is yet to be confirmed when the private sector rollout will begin in Shepparton.
Since February 28, nearly 4000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine have been administered at Victorian hospital vaccination hubs.

Victoria recorded no new cases of COVID-19 for the third day in a row on Monday, after almost 7000 results were received.
